Aegean and Lufthansa celebrate their first anniversary of cooperation

The first anniversary of the successful cooperation has been celebrated today by Aegean Airlines and Lufthansa German Airlines at the Philoxenia exhibition in Thessaloniki. During Greece’s largest tourism fair the airlines announced, that many passengers have used the excellent connections and code share flights offered between Greece and the rest of the world.

Especially passengers from northern Greece have benefited from the additional flight connections and options given by Aegean and Lufthansa. With the Aegean flights carrying also the Lufthansa flight numbers travelers can depart from Thessaloniki to Munich and Frankfurt and have onward connections to many German and international destinations.

Since March 2006, AEGEAN added a second daily flight to Munich from Athens and Thessaloniki. Passengers from Northern Greece have the choice of a trip to Munich with a same-day return. The Munich flights are optimized to offer worldwide connections through the new Terminal 2 at Munich Airport with LUFTHANSA. AEGEAN is the only airline offering two daily flights from Thessaloniki to one of the three largest hubs in Europe.

Also connections from and to the Greek islands have been improved. All in all 82 daily flights within Greece and additional flights to Munich and Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Brussels, Larnaca, Hanover, Berlin, Hamburg and Paris are operated as code-share flights.

Together with the introduction of code share flights the connections from one airline to the other offer convenient, seamless travel. Frequent flyers registered in one of the programs have the opportunity to collect and redeem miles on both airlines, Aegean Airlines as well as Lufthansa. The German carrier offers during the winter timetable 2006/07 a large network of flights to 183 destinations in 78 countries. Furthermore Business Class passengers have access to lounges of both airlines. Passengers connecting from one of the two airlines to the other can also check-in for all flights from Aegean or Lufthansa to their final destination.

Philoxenia raffle: Eight Aegean and Lufthansa tickets from any Greek airport to Cairo and European destinations to be won

On occasion of this anniversary Aegean Airlines have prepared a raffle at their stand Nr 26 at the grounds of the Philoxenia exhibition offering various prizes. Four return flight tickets of Aegean Airlines in Economy Class from any Greek destination to Cairo can be won by two lucky winners. Another four return tickets in Economy Class of Lufthansa from Athens to any European destination can be won by two more lucky winners. For these tickets Aegean Airlines will offer free tickets with departure from any Greek airport to connect to the Lufthansa flights from Athens.
